Act now to maintain your health and wellbeing

22 July 2020

Living through COVID-19 has been incredibly hard for everyone, but it has also shown that we’re all in this together. As we emerge from lockdown remember that the virus is still here, so we should all do our bit to protect our health and that of our community.

I know it isn’t easy, especially during the summer, but we should continue to stay home as much as possible and limit contact with others. When you go outside make sure to follow government guidance and self-isolate if you or anyone in your household has symptoms of coronavirus.

Now more than ever is the time to maintain your health and wellbeing, and your NHS is here to help you do this - we can treat you safely and have done all we can to minimise any risk.

It’s important you attend routine appointments, including antenatal checks, sexual health advice, and childhood vaccinations, as normal, unless you’ve been told not to attend. If you receive an invitation for a screening appointment, please attend as these checks help prevent serious illness.

If you’re struggling with your mental health, Talking Therapies is here for you on 0300300 1554.

If you have any health concerns contact your GP first by visiting your practice’s website or using an NHS app to book an appointment, or call them. If you have an urgent medical need, visit NHS 111 online or call 111 and they can book you an appointment with the right service. Only call 999 or visit A&E if it’s a serious or life-threatening emergency.
